Commissioned by the Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du Fleuve Senegal (OMVS) IPC Groene Ruimte conducts training missions in Senegal. The objective of this is to contribute to the sustainable ''integrated water management'' of the basin of the Senegal River. During the training activities are undertaken to manage and maintain water systems on a sustainable way on territorial and plot level.
The training sessions focusses on the identification of the problem of water weeds and transferring knowledge and skills to a selected group of participants from various Adu's from Senegal and Mauritania. By using machines and equipment (excavator, bobcat and brushcutters) which had purchased the OMVS. In addition, IPC learns the participants the method and techniques available with machinery or hand tools. The result of this training is the application of a safe and effiecient method for the employees benefits. In addition, IPC has investigated also the possibilities to train more people in this matter in the future and in other areas of necessary expertise.
IPC is working in this project in close cooperation with Waterschap Rivierenland.
